Library Partnerships
Libraries are wonderful resources for young children and families. There is excitement about growing partnerships between ROR programs and local libraries. ROR practices are the perfect place to incorporate library connections for families. As doctors and nurses talk with parents about reading and give them a new book, they can also encourage families to visit the library together. One of our goals at ROR WA state is to help local ROR programs connect with local libraries, creating win-win partnerships for young children and families. If you are a local library or system interested in partnering with Reach Out and Read, please contact us.
Early Learning Public Library Partnership
We are excited to be working with this new partnership whose vision is that public libraries are full, essential partners in the early learning movement in Washington State. Pairing ROR’s statewide effort with the libraries’, we will be able to leverage and support such connections. The chair of the Early Learning Public Library Partnership is on our advisory council. This enthusiastic group of libraries is interested in working with ROR programs so they can more easily connect families with local libraries across the state. Washington State Library
We are also thrilled to be partnering with the Washington State Library. In the fall, we partnered to send “Read Together” posters featuring Seattle Seahawk’s player Marcus Trufant and his daughter to all ROR practices across Washington. Read about Washington Reads efforts and the Early Learning Initiative of the State Library. You can also order beautiful Read Together posters for ROR waiting rooms or other settings.
